About us

Artesana (Artisan):
A person or company that makes a high-quality distinctive product in small quantities, usually by hand and usingtraditional methods. What started as an interest on a new hobby, is now turning into a women-owned small business launched by a Mother-in-law and Daughter-in-law. YES, in-laws that actually like each other and enjoy planning this adventure together.

The Mother In-law:

I am Cecilia Davoren, originally from Acapulco, Mexico; an ocean woman living in Arkansas. I have been married to my wonderful hubby Marty for almos 19 years, and together we have five children and six grandchildren.

I have always been a curious and “go-get-it/do-it” type of person; so curious as to try as many hobbies as I have come across whenever possible. I embarked in soap making after trying some handmade soap that I bought at a Fall festival. At a later time I discovered a place in Hot Springs, Arkansas where I could get nicer and better handmade soap. I then thought: “I can make this, it is after all handmade”. Needless to say, for those that know what soap making is, I was hooked and I have now been making handmade cold process and hot process soaps for five (5) years.

Before embarking on this business I have only sold my soaps for fundraisers for Courts Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) 13thJudicial District - a non-profit organization that advocates for abused and neglected children; people liked them and started asking for more, and this is how it all started.

I hope you like our products and please ensure on giving us your feedback. We want to hear from you with the goal in mind to offer the best products utilizing skin-loving oils, butters and extracts.

The Daughter In-law:

I am Elizabeth Davoren, originally from Palmdale, California but I moved to Camden, Arkansas in 2002. It was here that I met my husband, Nick. We have been married for 10 years and have three wonderful daughters.

After nearly ten years of being a stay at home mom, I decided to embark on this business venture with my mother-in-law, Cecilia.  She had been making and gifting handmade soaps for a couple years, and after moving back to Arkansas, we began making them together.  I started to encourage Cecilia to start selling them.  She asked me to join her and we started making them out of her home and selling online...and here we are a few years later with a store front, having added on to our line: body butters, bath salts, sugar scrubs, lip balms, lotions, foaming soaps, body washes, beard oils, and more!

We look forward to your business and hearing feedback from you! We hope you enjoy the soaps as much as we do!
